derfman....

In my experience, there was no problem with the shipping (your cue probably won't be lost). However, you will be taxed for the cue if it is shipped via EMS or door to door. At least that is what happened in my case, when I bought a couple of 100 USD cues.

TG you forgot another more "zero".....

derfman tariff rate is 7% + 12% vat

To avoid too much tax just declare minimal value of usd75.00

you'll be paying only around PhP1.5-2k

btw: would be glad to help if you require any assistance....am just at the vicinity of NAIA

Free of charge TG no tara

Elim_ph: you can use any of them, both gv door to door services.

You might include as well EMS, though you hv to pick it to their whs/ofc.

Pls note that door to door doesn't mean you will not pay duty/tax, so make sure to clarify it on your supplier coz they might declare the actual value on the airwaybill that will cause you...a lot of PHP.... :?

the cons of reflecting less value is the insurance, if ever your cue was lost or damage you can claim only based on the declared value.

My advice, find a trusted friend in the US that you can advice the cuemaker to ship the cue to and have that friend carry that cue to you on his next journey back home.

derfman....

I don't think there is a dealer here who sells Judd cues. Besides, if you are getting it from the cuemaker himself, chances are, you are already getting the best price.

If the cue is 900 USD, I suggest you follow pacman's suggestion and have the cue undervalued to less than 75 USD (if the cuemaker/distributor/seller agrees). If you don't undervalue the cue, you will most probably be taxed for it.

BlowFish's suggestion is also good--although you must have a friend in the US for it to work.

actually, i think the best way is to have a friend from the US hand-carry it from there to here. :)

but if i would undervalue it i might have problems with insurance. its hard to take risk coz i had a bad experience once. i bought a predator from seyberts then when i received it, it was already warped.
